I just feel that the incredible achievement of peter nicol has to be mentioned and as this appears to be his last season playing at the top level this would be a brilliant way to finish. To have three commonwealth golds as well as his incredible amount of time at no 1 must make him one of the best squash players ever.

it has been a tremendous achievement to win a second individual gold 8 years after winning the first . I really thought Palmer would be too strong but it was the opposite. he has peaked perfectly for this event.
he has proven what a tremendous player he still is.

wel done to peter, what a man. delighted for him and well deserved win. he may not retire as no 1 but retiriing with a commonwealth gold medal is an even better achievement!
