There is a lot of dust now settling after the exclusion of squash from the Olympics. If you want to join the forum go to the squash site link.

Trying to put a post in this forum, mind you, was like pulling wisdom teeth and if you want to join in I hope you have an easier time than I did trying to make a post...and I still don't know if it got recorded.

So, it seems the main criteria for the Olympic Games is for the sport to draw huge crowds, big takings, plenty of pushing and shoving and a bit of blood along the way.  Sorry IOC while we have an obesity crisis, heart health problems, lung disease, depression, sun cancer, and squash masters growing at an alarming rate, how could squash be overlooked.

If we didn't get in this time, we may never never so let's take another avenue?? What do you reckon?

taking the ioc to court? are you kidding? that would be the worst thing we could do. we're trying to raise the profile of the sport.; not bring it down.

You know, if you want something done they say do it yourself.  True.

With all the effort and money spent on trying to worm our way into the Olympics, scraping and crawling, that money could have been spent getting the sport out there with Paytv or similar promotional tournament stuff.  For example, let's have a RAVE Competition, women and blokes wearing G Strings, pushing instead of a let, Hawk-eye to capture the moment....we need more imagination. Do we need a sin-bin?

Legal action doesn't seem like a brilliant idea to me. Even if we were to win, what would the relationship between squash and the olymics be like? Strained from the start I would imagine.

If the IOC really doesn't want squash, I don't think it's going to happen.
