I actually went to the final.

Nicol David has the best movement I've seen live. So tenacious and the longer the rallies went on the more certain I was that she would close every point out. Easy to see why she's so dominant in the ladies game.

Shabs was amazing in the final, but he didn't win it just with Egyptian flare. He restricted Matthew from playing attacking shots by playing immaculate good length, hugging the walls.

Nick just couldn't step in and volley. It was a great lesson for any player.

I've never seen such a complete performance. If he plays as good as this he could go on for another 2-3 years at the top level.

 I've only seen the clips, but he was playing like a master. Those particular bits of deception against Willstrop show how confident he was of the deception. The top spin drive would have been a stroke against Shabana if Willstrop had read it and been able to move in the right direction. And the fake swing drop shot froze Willstrop perfectly Shabana look as though there'd be any need to play another shot that rally.
