I will admit to being totally fascinated with the SquashGame.info site stats.
We have a membership of over 1800, some of whom visit regularly and, some regularly, but not often and others occasionally. This would not be news to you.
What I find most interesting is that of the 120 visitors (and growing) we have per day, 90% come via direct bookmarks and yet only about 10% of those are members. I want to convert those regular visitors into contributing members, to enhance the "community" side of SquashGame.info. So even if you have never made a forum post previously, please let us know of what you think of SquashGame.info. As usual, we are always open to suggestions and constructive criticism.
Things to comment on could include:
- Quality of resources on the site
- Ease of use/navigation
- Services we are starting to offer
- Suggestions for future services
- The volume of communications to members(or lack of) (and our claim of no spam and no hassles)
ps. The previous poll was inconclusive - we will decide with each poll whether to restrict or open it to all, This poll is open to all.

Looks like we are on our way with some requested forum updates ![]()
Last reply by Name would be next thanks
Also it would look cleaner if you could push topic starter , ie (Viper) etc. into its own column, with its own header of Topic Starter.

in reply:
- i have already committed to improving the forum archive/list - to be done as soon as i finish tiding up the Squash Websites area.
- fonts? - i dunno
- change news - i have been thinking of it actually
- there will be at least one new "daily feature" next year to make a daily visit more interesting
- i can see who's online as a way of improving the "community" aspect - warming to the idea
- viper- you may have misunderstood - i am not thinking of using another forum system - rather just another web-text editor - this one is loading slowly in internet explorer - it is much faster in firefox.
- pictures in replies are coming!

A big advantage would be :
Last post details, ie
Number of replies...............Last post date.......last post time.......poster name
This would tell at a glance if and when there has been any new posts to a topic in any given forum, this will be important as traffic increases.

In the above example it is all laid out in one screen, much easier to navigate in this format.
Much slicker/professional looking fonts as well

1. Quality of resources on the site – 10/10
(i usually find what I am looking for)
2. Ease of use/ navigation - 5/10
(lay out of the web is not really user-friendly and you have to get used to it; it's not easy to participate in the forum conversations as "preview" means "your message may be lost in a second" :-(
3. Services offered from the site - 10/10 or even more; Playing partners will be fantastic place to make friends and play and discuss and enjoy a game... It must be built further by active members; gear reviews - read above;
4. I echo Viper's request for "who's online" status bar and possibilyty of using all the adventages of "PC" in my Powerbook G4.
5. My day with the "http://www.squashgame.info/" starts usually at Rippa Rit's Championship Tip and I am trying to contribute to it, argue or agree or extend it more, then i check the last posts by members.
6. Several times I am really looking for something (i.e. tips on volley, rules and regulations refereing, etc.) and I go to search box.
7. Latest Squash News should be moved to the top and reduced to last three subjects maybe

As to point 1. most use either of these as you probably know:
I really like the 3 shortcuts to tips etc on the front page, I always read them as they are so prominent.
Thanks for your efforts.
Oh being able to easily paste in pictures anywhere in a thread would an important step as a picture tells a thousand words especially in a game like squash.![]()
back editing a post - test
It worked ! you beauty.

- loading the reply will always be slower as there are many files associated with with this web editor - whether we stick with this one or go try another is still not decided
- see point 1
- i was not aware of any probs with editing - this was done at your suggestion and i thank you for convincing me to do it. i use it regularly. i will check it out
- I agree with you on the emoticons - see point 1
- Colour - what goes around comes around it is a personal thing
- who is online is a possibility
From Viper - 19 Dec 2005 - 09:13
Still a few bugs in the system,
1. Loading the reply window is slow .
2. Pasting is trouble, often the paste goes in above the reply window
3. Post editing, the last time I tried did not work still.
4. Emotions could be a lot better.
5. This is just a personal thing but the "canary yellow" is awful - very late 80's
6. Activating "who is on line" would be good.
Sorry, only members can post replies on this and all other Members` Forum items.
