 Hi all,

Long time no post! I've been coaching a group of lads aged around 15-16 or so for about a year now and it's got to a point where I've shown them all the basic drills and shots that are needed to play the game. I'm struggling to think of ideas as to how to mix it up a bit, I've had a look through the drills on this site and while they look good, I don't think they would work when you've got a group of four lads.

Things I currently do are:

1. The obvious standard stand at the back, feed it up to the front wall and they play a straight drive or volley, I do a similar thing for drop shots too

2. I boast from a corner, they play a drop, I move forward to around the T area and they have to try and lob me with a crosscourt lob

3. Drives and boasts with 3 people, but mixing it up so the front person can play crosscourts and straight drives, while the back people can play boasts or straight drops

4. Alley games with me usually feeding into the back corners to practice their shots from the back corners

I'm sure I do more but I can't think of any off the top of my head! Could anyone else recommend any drills to do with a group of around four lads? I've noticed that they seem to get comfortable with certain drills and get used to them but if I mix it up they struggle a bit more, so anything new regardless of what kind of shot it is, drop, lob, boast, I don't mind, would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam

Thanks Rita, I'll have a look through that. If anyone has any other recommendations I'm open to all ideas!

Hi Sam

What about the Restricted Games idea that introduces some basic placement during game play.
