I HAVE TRIED JUST ABOUT EVERY BRAND OF SQUASH SHOES AND OWN OVER 12 PAIRS, ADAIDAS STABIL, NIKE, PUMA, ASHAWAY BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYING AN IMPORTANT MATCH AND WANTING TO HAVE A PAIR OF SHOES ON THAT ABSOLUTLY FEEL LIKE A GLOVE THEN THERE IN NO BETTER CHOICE THAN MY PRINCE NFSII SHOES. THE SHOE APART FROM FEEL HAS GREAT FEATURES WORTH CONSIDERING

* THE GRIP IS THE BEST I HAVE FELT, YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN RUN AFTER A BALL HARD OUT AND STILL STOP ON A DIME

* THE LACING IS GREAT, ONCE TIED UP THERE IS NO NEED TO ADJUST THE TENSION BETWEEN GAMES

* THE HEIGHT OF THE SHOES IS LOW ENOUGH SO THAT YOU FEEL SOLID IN THEM WHEN TURNING AND CHANGING DIRECTIONS, THIS TO ME WAS IMPORTANT CONSIDERING I BADLY HURT MY KNEE A FEW YEARS AGO AND WHEN I STARTED PLAYING AGAIN I MADE SURE THAT I GOT A PAIR OF SHOES THAT FELT SOLID UNDERFOOT.

I use Stabil 5s and have 2 pairs at the moment. I've tried loads of different shoes, but found myself wearing them out in around 2 to 3 months. One pair I used to wear (Asics) were binned after I went over in them and dislocated my ankle.

The Stabils are as their name suggestes - STABLE! But I can't take anything away from Prince shoes, as many friends of mine think they're fantastic. Overall I guess Rita is right - Each to their own and if the shoe fits - WEAR IT!!!

I just bought a pair so I could compare them with the Stabil V's. I tried them side by side yesterday. First impressions: NFS 2 fit is a half size larger than the Stabils (I wear a 13US NFS and 13.5US Stabil), and it is wider than the Stabil in the midfoot and toe box. The heel feels a little less stable -- it is a fraction higher off the ground, I think. Overall the NFS are more comfotable to walk in, and are quite a bit lighter so my feet feel quicker. The Stabils hold my foot better when I'm playing, though, and grip the court a bit better, and give me more confidence in my movement.

Update: I played with the NFS 2 again tonight... I am switching back to them. They don't look as cool as Stabils, but I am used to them now and the bottom line is my feet felt better when I finished playing than when I usually play with the Stabils... So much for the 6 pairs of Stabils I have!!! At least the NFS 2 is cheap...

evil_flounder - this just confirms  what Hashim Khan said in his book "like toothbrush. personal".
To compare feet and noses, would be a bit the same.
That is why we have so many styles, and brands, to give a variety to chose from, and soak up our money too!!.
Flat feet, high instep, bunions, pronation - all the genetics, mess up the footwear
It is great to find the right fit, then the right sole to grip for squash as well, and one that does not roll over and sprain your ankle too.  Then the next time you want to buy a pair the style has been superseded, so .......there  we go again.
This all "keeps us on our toes"!

I used to wear those, and love how they fit in the toe box but the midfoot area was always a bit loose for me even when I tied the shoes fairly tight. They are not very durable, and I usually wear through them in about 3 months. I may try another pair, though. My Stabils are great, but they are a little narrow. Stabils last forever, and I think hold the foot better and grip the floor better, but you lose a lot of court feel which does bother me.
