Hi everyone i have a quick q, details, I just bought a new metallix150 and got it restrung with technifibre 305s. However if i shake the racket a bit i seem to hear a bit of a rattling sound. Does anyone know what it is ? or where it might be coming from ?

This happened to me, and with close analysis I spotted it straight away. Might not be the case with yours, but on my Hot Melt, look round the edge of the racket where the strings go into the holes, there are tiny pieces of plastic to help the strings go through the holes when restringing. One of these may be loose, and start making the rattling noise between the strings and racket frame.

cheesy - this is what I would firstly consider:

1. Take the racket back to where you bought it from and get them to fix it or replace it.

2. If you got it from an online seller, you might have to fix it yourself by doing as jbs24 suggested.  I have had a problem like this and it was necessary to take the end cap off the bottom (undo the staples) and see if some little bit of rubbish falls out; use a small tack to put the end cap back on securely. You will have to take off the leather, synthetic grip though and replace or reattach properly when finished too - our video on how to replace a grip should be ready any day now.

3.If you have a representative/agent for that brand of racket in town/city phone them for advice, as all reputable brands should give a guarantee as this is "manufacturer's fault" type claim.

Hope you get this sorted OK as that little rattle can get annoying.

if it rattles around in different areas, it's probably a broken piece of plastic like a grommet that's stuck in there. you may be able to remove your handle grip, then remove the tape and staple that hold the plastic butt end, remove the butt end and shake out the plastic piece, then reassemble.
